Happy New Year! Stunning London Eye fireworks welcome Britain into 2019

The main attraction of the night was in the capital city, where as many as 100,000 revellers lined the streets of London to watch thousands of fireworks explode above the River Thames. The New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2018 began airing on BBC One from 11.55pm on December 31. Coverage will be live streamed from the official BBC YouTube from 11.30pm and can be watched via this article (below).

The annual display lasted for roughly 15 minutes.

It was shown live on the BBC iPlayer where it will be added in full after the broadcast.

According to the BBC: “As Big Ben strikes midnight, we bring in the New Year live from Embankment with London's famous fireworks, one of the most spectacular firework displays to be seen anywhere in the world.

“The celebrations continue along the Thames with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne - the perfect start to 2019.”

The fireworks this year featured fabulous views of the River Thames, Big Ben and the London Eye.
