DCI Luther will return with another sickening murder to solve but while many fans of the series will be glued to their television screens this evening, actor Idris will not.
In fact, the star has revealed he isn’t really a fan of the popular BBC show.
He explained, it’s “too dark” to sit down and watch with his family.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Idris commented: “No, for me, if I’m honest, I try not to watch the show.

“It’s dark, it’s very dark and not the kind of thing I like to watch.
“I’ve got my son and we like to watch Shrek.”
Idris went on to note filming the show is also “tough” and revealed he spoke to a murder detective before filming to learn more about his role.
“It’s hard show to film. It’s crammed as you can tell,” Idris commented.
“We’re watching it but all those details are written by Neil [Cross] meticulously and he wants his words on the screen and that makes for a very gruelling schedule.
“When we are shooting in Winter, the daylight hours are shorter, so we are constantly pushing and pushing.”
