‘It’s scary’ Idris Elba shares killer secret ahead of #Luther's return

LUTHER returns to BBC One this evening as the detective finds himself with a new spate of nightmarish murders to deal with. As the body count rises, he finds himself under increasing pressure to catch the killer - but will he succeed?

DCI John Luther (played by Idris Elba) will find himself struggling to hunt down a murdered and stay out of trouble as gangster George Cornelius makes a return.

Speaking ahead of the first episode of the BBC series, Idris dropped a secret the new series and teased the identity of the killer.

“You know, it true to Luther sort of set-up, it just gets more complex, it’s never straight forward,” he explained.

“This season is extremely complex, Jamie Payne our director, well done my friend.

“Jamie was sort of like, very, I guess overly aware that is the way Luther is, you unfold it, and you unfold it, and you unfold it.

“And even though in this particular season, there is one antagonist, one murderer or killer, so many things fall out of that and it becomes a very complex web.”

Idris went on to add: “What is really special about this particular season is it is a huge, four episodes in one movie, it starts to unfold and unfold and unfold, it’s scary.”

Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Idris also opened up on the demands of filming the popular BBC show written by Neil Cross.
