But this decision should not lead to believe the duchess won’t be crowned Queen following Queen Elizabeth II’s departure, according to Royal expert Charlie Proctor. Arguing this decision should not be influenced by what people think of Camilla, the expert said: “The official line is that when Charles becomes king, Camilla will become Princess Consort. I personally think that is nonsense.

Mr Proctor argued the Duchess of Cornwall is one of the most hardworking royals and has been honoured by the Palace with growing responsibilities since she joined the family upon marrying Charles in 2005.
