Saara Aalto, who was a runner up on the UK version of The X Factor in 2016, is gearing up to make her debut on ITV’s new series of Dancing On Ice 2019 alongside her professional skating partner Hamish Gaman, 35, this evening. The Finland born singer recently took to Twitter to spill on the backstage challenges ahead of taking centre-stage on the ice rink, when she admitted there has been “blood and bruises”. She told her 68,000 followers: “I’m ready to Dance Like Nobody’s Watching @dancingonice is my biggest challenge yet! “Backstage has been blood, blusher and bruises… now we are ready for the ice! Let’s go @HamishGaman #dancingonice #wildwildwonderland #teamnofear.”

The Eurovision competitor added a clip of her twirling onto the ice as she dropped her microphone to the floor.

Fans quickly flocked to her account to praise the star, as one user wrote: “You go girl…dance like you’ve never danced before.”

Another person wrote: “And your snow fairies are ready to support you all the way. You are gonna rule on the ice!!! The amazing Snow Fairy Queen!!!
