The leader of the Labour Party has received the wholeheartedly support of the new leader of Mexico. Mr López Obrador, commonly known as Amlo, was asked why he has never expressed his views about Venezuela’s leader Nicolas Maduro but has often spoken in favour of Mr Corbyn becoming Britain’s Prime Minister. Mr López Obrador said: “I said that about Corbyn because he is my friend.
“That’s different, it has nothing to do with external politics.
“Citizens of the UK will decide who must rule their country, but to me, Corbyn is one of the most important leaders in the world.”
This is not the first time Amlo, who won the presidency at his third attempt on July 1, backs Mr Corbyn as Prime Minister.
The Labour leader was one of the politicians invited to Amlo’s swearing-in ceremony on December 1.

In the run up to it, Mr López Obrador said he identifies with the British Labour movement because it’s a progressive and democratic party and "respects migrants and the rights that we all have to look for a better future".
