The balaclava-clad group stormed the house in Hunter Road, Norwich, on Friday night just moments after the family had finished singing happy birthday. After demanding cannabis and cash from the stunned owners, the thugs were forced out of the property, but not before they had managed to steal a woman’s mobile phone. Police believe the gang may have broken into the wrong house, the Eastern Daily Press reports.
A man inside the property told of the terrifying moment the thugs forced their way through the back door into a room where the group of children were sat eating cake.
The 55-year-old, who asked not to be named, said the masked men then demanded drugs and money.
He told the EDP: At first we thought it was a joke or something, we just didn’t process it.
“I just said ‘what are you on about, there’s nothing here’.”
