Dan Walker made a cheeky remark about Louise Minchin’s tights when he revealed she spilt coffee in the BBC Breakfast studio.
The 41-year-old broadcaster claimed the 50-year-old smelt like a barista after spilling the caffeine drink.
He also dramatised the situation, by telling his 53,3000 Instagram followers the workroom had “survived” the incident.
On his social media account, he began: “Morning all. Studio has survived an early coffee spillage from @louiseminchin.

The witty message received more than 1,000 likes and the journalist was inundated with comments from fans.
One person wrote: “Double lid always a disaster ready to happen… been there,” while another fan said: “Hope it wasn’t too hot Lou!”
A third commentator added: “Least it’s coffee smells and not because she’s let one rip, as your photo initially suggests.”
Sympathising with his co-star, a fourth follower said: “Poor Louise! Those cups are a pain! Especially at six in the morning!”
