Shameless season nine will return on Sunday, January 20, with Fiona Gallagher (played by Emmy Rossum) and the rest of the clan back on Showtime. Emmy Rossum, however, is leaving Shameless soon, as was announced back in August. Showtime viewers have been left wondering when Fiona Gallagher will leave Shameless.
According to statements from the crew behind Shameless season nine, Emmy Rossum will leave in the season nine finale, which doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet but is likely to air on Sunday, March 3 on Showtime at 9pm EST and PST.
However, the actress, who has also appeared in The Day After Tomorrow, Mystic River and the film version of The Phantom of the Opera, is listed in the credits of every episode of Shameless season nine until the last two.
However, we do not know whether these are full appearances, or whether the character will just show up in the recaps at the beginning of each episode.
The last episode we know Rossum is in is season nine, episode 10, as this is the last instalment where Fiona is mentioned in the synopsis.
