During an interview on BBC Newsnight, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi insisted that removing a no-deal scenario is a “nonsense”. After a politically damaging week for the Conservative party, the Brexiteer MP was defiant in the face of the apparent perils of a no-deal scenario. Mr Zahawi managed to put the boot in on Jeremy Corbyn and the EU as he responded to presenter Kirsty Wark’s questions.
Mr Zahawi said: “What the Prime Minister did last night is open the doors to all Parliamentarians.
“Sadly Jeremy Corbyn has decided to put preconditions before he meets.
“He met Hamas without preconditions yet he won’t meet his Prime Minister without preconditions.”
Earlier in the week, Mr Corbyn had got the upper hand as Mrs May’s Brexit deal was heavily defeated in the Commons.
