The Duke of Edinburgh’s Land Rover collided with a Kia, which was carrying two women and a baby, when he was driving near the Queen’s Sandringham Estate yesterday. Philip’s car overturned during the smash as the 97-year-old pulled onto the A149. But the brave Duke’s main concern was to make sure everyone else was unharmed, according to a witness.
Roy Warne, who was one of the first on the scene, said: “He wasn’t rude. He was very shaken and he went and asked: ‘Is everyone else alright?’
“He's a very brave man. He didn't make a big fuss about it.”
Philip escaped the accident without any injuries, but the 97-year-old saw a doctor as a precaution.
The two women in the other car required hospital treatment but the baby was believed to be unharmed.
