'Tell them again, LOUDER!' Portillo has simple message for Remainers

The BBC panellist could be seen nodding along with Alan Johnson as the former Labour MP explained why a second Brexit referendum would deliver a bigger victory to the Leave camp. Mr Portillo insisted no new vote could be held as MPs continue to struggle to reach an agreement with the British Government on the withdrawal agreement they want the UK to have with the European Union. The former Tory MP insisted holding a new referendum would be "unfair" to British voters as they already expressed their opinion in favour of quitting the EU.

"We know that people who have always been Remain, who lost the referendum, want to have another go. Sometimes people say it’s the best of three but what they really want is, as soon as they get a referendum that turns out their way, that’ll be the end of it.

"There’ll be no talk about further referendums after that. They want to have another referendum now because presumably, the choice is between staying in the European Union or utter chaos around no agreement."
