Jacob (played by Joe Warren-Plant) has progressively managed to get out from under his dad’s girlfriend Maya’s (Louisa Clein) spell on Emmerdale, and tonight things came to a head.
Following a close call with headteacher Jessie Grant (Sandra Marvin) at the school careers’ fair yesterday, Jacob was already tying to distance himself from the curly-haired bombshell.
And as his dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) continues to show him support, Jacob has begun to realise Maya’s true colours on the ITV soap.
Giving the child abuser an ultimatum to choose either him or his dad, Jacob reluctantly showed up at her cottage in the woods for the answer.
But when it was clear Maya was trying to manipulate Jacob into carrying on sneaking around behind shopkeeper’s David back, the 15-year-old school-student got angry with her.
“Don’t be angry with me Jakey,” the sickening woman pleaded, but Jacob rebuffed her.
“This is hard for me too,” Maya insisted as Jacob demanded to know why she couldn’t just tell David the truth.
“Because I don’t want to lose you,” Maya lied. “Think about it Jacob, think how would your dad react if we told him we were together? All hell would break loose.”
