Pointless Celebrities broadcast a special writers edition of the general knowledge quiz which saw four teams try to come up with the answers that no-one else could think of.
However, due to this evening’s special line-up, presenter Richard wanted the show’s “writer’s special” name to change.
Tonight’s show featured Richard Madeley, Dreda Say Mitchell, John O'Farrell, Lise Mayer, Jenny Colgan, Jane Fallon, Richard Stilgoe and Don Black.
Starting the show, host Alexander said: “Thank you very much, all of you. A very warm welcome to Pointless. Lovely to have you with us.

“We’ll get the chance to chat more thought the show as it goes along. That just leaves one more person for me to introduce.
“They say everyone has a book inside them, and this man is no different, though he has had his appendix removed. It is my Pointless friend, it’s Richard.”
The camera then cut to Richard who smiled: “Hiya, hey everybody. Nice to see you again. Good evening to you.”
