Fans of the Amazon Prime and History show Vikings were left devastated to hear the cast would only be returning for one more final season next year. Vikings season six will return for its final run with a number of the series’ core characters making a comeback.
The cast list may not have been officially been announced by history just yet, but several actors have taken to Twitter and Instagram to confirm they’ll be back for the finale.
Dozens of characters’ futures do remain up in the air, however, with a promo for Vikings season five, episode 19 teasing more bloody drama ahead of the fifth series final episode.
Lagertha actor Katheryn Winnick and Ivar the Boneless’ Alex Hogh Andersen are just two of the Vikings stars to confirm their comebacks.

Taking to Instagram with a production still of herself in character, Winnick wrote: “First glimpse of #Lagertha in season 6… #Vikings #alive”.
Høgh Andersen followed suit, sharing several behind the scenes snaps from the set of Vikings season six on his social media page.
