Countdown host Rachel Riley, 33, accused Nick Hewer, 74, of being the reason their guests leave the show after Kate Humble announced it was her last time in the dictionary corner for now. After her announcement, the ex Strictly Come Dancing star turned to the host and said: “I think it’s the curse of Hewer the skewer." Smirking, he replied: “What have I done?” She explained: “The last two contestants you reminded have never lost… you put it in their mind, you have planted the seed. It’s terrible.”
