Princess Diana wanted to move to Pakistan with lover: 'She was MADLY in love'

The Princess wanted to marry him and was ready to leave Britain, according to Jemima Khan. Lady Di dated Hasnat before her much publicised romance with Dodi Fayed prior to their sudden deaths in 1997. Jemima, ex-wife of Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, wrote a detailed account of their friendship in a 2013 article for “Vanity Fair” titled “The Grandmother Prince George Never Knew”.

Ms Khan told the magazine: “Diana was madly in love with Hasnat Khan and wanted to marry him, even if that meant living in Pakistan, and that's one of the reasons why we became friends.

"She wanted to know how hard it had been for me to adapt to life in Pakistan," she added, in reference to her own marriage to Imran Khan, which took her to Pakistan.

The Princess of Wales would seek advice from her on living in Pakistan when she paid visits to the country.
