It came during the beginning of the programme as Eamonn Holmes and his wife and co-host Ruth Langsford revealed what would be coming up on the show. One particular This Morning segment featured doctors Chris and Xand who would be discussing the secrets to a long life. But when Eamonn, 59, divulged it would be coming up, he made a joke about Vanessa’s age on the ITV show. He jested that 56-year-old Vanessa was nearly 64 and she didn’t take kindly to the suggestion. People are living longer but they are not necessarily living longer and staying healthy. “So would you rather live shorter and be up for it like me or…” he trailed off as Vanessa laughed on the sofa beside him. “Tell you what, that 64 isn’t far off for you. However, it was evident it was a good humoured moment between the pair of them. Vanessa was on the programme to be part of a debate centred around whether tickling should be made illegal. She was of the belief that it was going too far to suggest parents couldn’t tickle their own children, or that it would be wrong for her to tickle her grandchildren. Vanessa received a lot of support online for her views as fans took to Twitter to comment.
