The period detective drama has undergone some serious changes this season with the loss of Sidney Chambers (played by James Norton). But tonight proved the ITV series won’t suffer as fans were already “in love” with the vicar replacement Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) and were eager to learn all about the character’s dark past. Yet while the latest case was a particularly harrowing one, viewers were more concerned for the beloved Cathy Keating (Kacey Ainsworth). Cathy is married to lead Geordie Keating (Robson Green) on the show, but she has been suffering in silence in a tricky work situation. Realising he wasn’t going to listen and was enjoying the power he had over her, the detective’s wife cried: “Leave me alone!” But it didn’t work, and Mr Hobbs simply ordered her to remain quiet. Luckily Cathy got away from the situation, deciding to report his behaviour to their boss.
