#London City Airport CLOSED because of snow – is your flight affected?

Heavy snowfall prompted London City Airport to close on Friday night. The east London transport hub was struck by the bad weather in a cold snap which saw snow fall across the capital. Bosses took to Twitter to announce the news. Yet which flights have been affected for UK travellers?

What is the situation at London City Airport?

London City Airport closed shortly after 10pm on Friday, February 1, as heavy snowfall enveloped the UK capital city.

A message on the East London transport hub’s website read: “Due to adverse weather (heavy snow fall) the runway has now been closed.

“We regret to inform you that few flights have been diverted and some have been cancelled.”

No other information was given about the diversions or cancellations, with passengers best to contact their flight provider.

Yet with all flights cancelled or re-routed, the entirety of airlines were affected.
