In view of her millions of followers, Mrs Trump wrote: “Our work in the East wing continues into 2019 with online safety, fighting opioid abuse and supporting the well-being of children everywhere!” The rare public statement included a reference to the First Lady’s BeBest campaign, which she is using to champion well being. But the First Lady’s words were met with fiery censure, with some appearing to question their sincerity.
One user, Tony Posnanski, said: “Continues? Have you done anything yet?”
Meanwhile another said: “Except for the brown ones at the border, right? Those, we cage.”
And John Pavlovitz did not mince his words, penning: “This is like a slaughterhouse declaring they will continue supporting the well-being of cows.
“You and your malignant husband are a human rights atrocity.”
