THE VOICE UK 2019 is well underway and the ITV singing competition is faring well in the ratings battle against The Greatest Dancer. It seems the show is going from strength to strength each week as it pulls in millions of viewers. And as the show grows closer to the battle rounds, the ITV series has continued to triumph over The Greatest Dancer in the ratings battle. According to last week’s figures, The Voice beat the BBC series featuring Cheryl, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison for the fourth week in a row. Airing at 8pm, the series pulled in an average of 4.9 million people, with ITV reporting it was the “most-watched programme” of the night. Meanwhile, The Greatest Dancer only managed to pull in an average audience of 3.3 million people. The BBC series also only managed an audience shared of 18.1 per cent while The Voice took 27 per cent. The programmes are set to go head-to-head once more this evening with The Greatest Dancer airing at 7.30pm while The Voice is scheduled for 8pm. Last week’s episode of The Voice saw coaches Jennifer and Olly embroiled in a jokey spat. The pair argued over contest Stefan Mahendra with the coaches both wanted him to join their teams. Later, will.i.am invited Stefan’s band to join him on stage as the group Brown Sugar. Trying to impress Stefan further, Olly began to throw his shoes at the contestant. In the past, Jennifer has thrown her shoes at those she believes have incredible talent. “Nobody throws shoes around here but me!” Jennifer shouted at Olly.
