Billy (played by Jay Kontzle) tried to turn over a new leaf when he arrived in Emmerdale, however, his violent temper has reared its head on numerous occasions.
Most recently, his anger has been directed towards Ellis (Asan N'Jie), who has been winding his brother up in order to show their mother Jessie Dingle (Sandra Marvin) Billy hasn’t changed or learnt anything from his time behind bars.
In recent scenes on the ITV soap, Billy viciously attacked Ellis, who later reported the incident to the police which led to his brother’s arrest.
However, to ensure her son remained a free man, Jessie lied to the police about the attack but it seems Ellis is going to continue his mission to get rid of his brother despite his mothers fears about the ex-con returning to a life of crime.
In upcoming scenes, Billy’s violent streak will surface once again when Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) bumps into him at The Woolpack, but the ex-con realises he needs help.
Confiding in Jessie, Billy tells his mother he is struggling to move on from his criminal past, to which Ellis isn’t willing to let him forget.
However, Ellis is given more ammunition to get revenge for the attack last week when he spots Billy chatting with his love interest, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
The initial aftermath sees the two brothers throwing punches at one another, with Victoria ringing Jessie as things get out of control.
