Silent Witness fans watched the concluding part of Betrayal tonight, following on from yesterday’s part one episode.
During tonight’s episode, Thomas (played by Richard Lintern) sided against Nikki Alexander’s (Emilia Fox) findings on a controversial case.
However, Nikki suspected foul play and took steps to prove her theory, with tonight’s continuation proving she was right to be suspicious.
Jack (David Caves) and Clarissa (Liz Carr) followed a forensic trail connecting the dead researcher from yesterday’s episode with a billionaire scientist and a secret testing program.

It turned out that Nikki was being set up internally by Alice (Kiran Sonia Sawar), however, the reason took many by surprise.
Alice’s maiden name was Coulter, the same as Gavin Coulter who was standing trial.
It was soon revealed that Gavin was Alice’s dad, with Alice trying to discredit Nikki’s evidence and have him freed.
Alice had sabotaged the evidence in order to get her dad out of prison, despite knowing he was guilty of killing her mother.
Nikki informed her team of the truth, but Alice turned up at Nikki’s house to make a confession that she rewrote the report, switched the hearts and contaminated Jacob's body.
Furious, Nikki explained how Pujari had already fled and may never be caught thanks to her actions.
