The US President told members of the US-led coalition fighting ISIS he was determined to bring US troops home from the Middle East conflict zone. He said: “It should be formally announced some time, probably next week, that we will have 100 per cent of the caliphate.” Mr Trump was addressing ministers from the 79 countries in the anti-ISIS coalition, who had gathered in Washington for the first time since he abruptly announced in December he intended to bring home all 2,000 US soldiers from Syria.

He said: “The US looks forward to giving our brave warriors in Syria a warm welcome back home.”
The President's speech at the State Department focused heavily on the military victories against ISIS.
He said: ”Our military has been incredible. And your militaries have been incredible. So it's an honour to work with you.
“We have secured one battlefield and we've had victory after victory after victory and retaken both Mosul and Raqqa.
