Chris Evans was recently joined by his co-star Rachel Horne on the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show as he read out the studio number for his listeners. The 52-year-old former BBC Radio 2 presenter began to read out the radio station’s contact information when he suddenly told Rachel that he was looking at the studio number behind her and not directly at the presenter. He mused: “When I read out the numbers, I’m not looking at you longingly. It’s just that I’m reading the studio number behind you. “It’s behind you and I’m looking slightly off.”
Rachel replied: “It’s slightly disconcerting. You kind of slightly look at me, and then you don’t quite look at me.”
To which he added: “That’s called slightly cheating the angle. It’s what actors do in a two-shot. And when you watch the screen it’s like they're looking at each other but if you’re in the studio, they’re not looking at each other.
“Apparently, Michael Caine is very good at it, I understand.”
Rachel is a regular feature on the new radio show as she acts as the travel guru providing regular news bulletins.
