While on Andrew Neil’s This Week, Michael Portillo corrected Alastair Campbell on a second referendum as the Remainer attempted to argue that Theresa May had thwarted it while in actuality no MP put it to the House of Commons out of fear it would not pass through Parliament. Andrew Neil questioned whether Mr Campbell was “barking up the wrong tree” when continuing to support a second referendum to which he responded that he didn’t agree. He added: “Theresa May was partly responsible for really battering the People’s vote as a concept.
