Saturday Morning host James Martin reveals major show setback: 'Nightmare!'

The 46-year-old TV chef, who famously hosted Saturday Kitchen until he quit the BBC programme back in 2015, has been traveling around Britain to give viewers a taste of the delicacies which are available close to home for his brand new series. However, all did not go totally smoothly filming James Martin’s Great British Adventure, he told TV Times. The presenter explained how the programme sees him on the road in a red Mini, saying: “Originally, we hired one to travel around Scotland but it broke down twice. So, I said to the crew, ‘I’m not driving this any more; it’s a nightmare! I’ll buy one!’

“That night, I went on eBay and had one shipped up to Scotland,” he recalled. “So, we drove that for the rest of the journey and not a single thing went wrong with it.

“It’s still sat in my garage. We’ll definitely take it with us we do another show!” he added.

Great British Adventure features James spending a week each in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales to celebrate the UK’s food and people who produce it.

At one point, he meets a 104-year-old Guernsey cow herd and samples their butter.
