#GameofThrones star Kit Harington speaks out on 'privacy': 'It's disorientating'

The actor, 32, has played Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy drama since it first aired in 2011. With the series garnering a massive global following, Kit Harington recently opened up about the level of fame he has achieved since it began. “You get the camera phone thing a lot,” he said during an interview on BBC Radio 6. “That was new to being an actor or a musician when we came along. Suddenly everyone wants a photo or everyone’s taking a photo,” the Game of Thrones star explained.

“That level of privacy goes,” he added. “Which is disorientating.”

Kit also spoke out about feeling liberated since wrapping filming on season eight.

“If you think about how old I was when I got that show, I was 21, 22, and I’m now 32,” he said. “So, it’s 10 years and my entire 20s.

“I don’t think I can think of more exciting, more exhilarating, more life-changing job to have in my 20s than that,” he continued. “And to play such a key figure in it.

“I loved it, I really loved it. But at times it was all-encompassing and it was a bit overwhelming and now we’ve come to the end of the nine, 10 years, I’m quite glad to be moving on with the next stage of my life.”
