Laurie Brett, who played Jane Beale in EastEnders between 2004 and 2017, has opened up about marrying her partner Dennis Ibrahim. The actress married her partner earlier this month in a secret ceremony attended by her BBC co-stars. However, the 49-year-old was originally supposed to walk down the aisle in October, before her other half fell ill. She was told she had “saved his life” after he was struck down with both pneumonia and sepsis.

Speaking to the latest issue of OK! Magazine, Laurie spoken candidly about their change of plans, after he was rushed to hospital.
She commented: “In the lead up to the wedding Dennis was very ill, I knew something wasn’t right so I called an ambulance.”
The ex Albert Square favourite continued: “When we got to the hospital we found out he had pneumonia and sepsis. The consult said to him: ‘Your wife-to-be has saved your life.
“‘If you had waited another night to come in things would have been very different.’”
