Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s extravagant wedding day in July 1981 was watched by millions around the globe. As Diana, in her world-famous wedding dress, arrived at the altar after her three-and-a-half-minute walk down the aisle, viewers could see the Prince of Wales turn and say something to his bride. Netflix documentary ‘The Queen’s Diamond Decades’, which originally aired in 2012, reveals what exactly Charles said to Diana as she arrived at the altar.
The film claims: “At the altar a waiting Prince Charles assured his bride-to-be: ‘You look beautiful'.”
It also takes a look back at Princess Diana’s wedding gown, which had been the “subject of frenzied speculation for weeks".
The film added: “It didn’t disappoint. At 25 feet long, Diana’s train set a royal record.”
The documentary also states: “Earl Spencer, having recently suffered a stroke, was nevertheless determined to walk his daughter up the aisle.”
