Manpreet (played by Rebecca Sarker) was caught in last week’s Emmerdale, as Jai (Chris Bisson) discovered the GP was up to her eyes in debt, with her car being repossessed outside the factory owner’s home.
On the understanding she would seek help for her addiction to shopping, Jai promised Manpreet he wouldn’t tell his father and her partner Rishi Sharma (Bhaskar Patel) about her problems.
However, viewers of the ITV soap were convinced her troubles would soon cause a rift between the Sharma men, with one posting on Twitter: “I feel a very dark Manpreet story building up,” and it seems as if their predictions are about to come true.
Next week on the ITV soap, Manpreet will go to desperate measures to pursue her addiction but also keep it a secret from Jai, but it seems he could be on to her.

Unsure what Manpreet is up to, Jai believes his father’s lover could be having an affair behind his back, later telling her he knows what she’s up to.
Manpreet’s shady behaviour doesn’t go unnoticed however, as factory owner Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) witnesses the shopping addict taking the sweet factory company credit card.
Later on, Jai soon becomes inquisitive as he discovers money has been transferred into her account from the company account, leaving the factory owner more confused than ever.
