Meghan Markle and her father have been known to have a complicated relationship since Thomas Markle was revealed to have staged a series of photographs with paparazzi before she became a royal. Mr Markle this week leaked to the public a letter the Duchess of Sussex wrote to him to explain her feelings about his behaviour since she officially joined the Royal Family, especially his agreeing to interviews with the press. Royal expert Robert Jobson suggested Thomas' decision to publish the letter signals "the mess if just going to carry on".
Speaking to Sunrise, Mr Jobson said: "She says in the letter he hasn’t tried to contact her but, of course, he has. He has been texting her and tried to ring her.
"I think the fact this was written last August and is just being released now messes up the timeline. Clearly, both of them are never going to get this thing resolved.
"This complete mess is just going to carry on. I think it’s very sad, not only for her but for him because this is not something that’s going to be repaired."
After releasing the five-page letter Meghan wrote to him, Mr Markle has threatened to leak out more of the letter which has been published across the world.
