Debbie McGee’s stepson Martin Daniels said he was worried when Debbie told him they had found cancerous cells during a routine breast screening back in October. He told The Mirror: “She didn’t want to worry me. "She was concerned between the time she found the lump and until the tests came back.” He added: “Before the operation she said she was worried about the scarring and what it would look like.

“Then when she had the dressing off she was happy it was just two stitches and minimal scarring.”
Debbie opened up about her secret battle with cancer last month, admitting she believes the stress of losing her husband Paul back in 2016 may have caused the disease.
Martin’s father Paul, who was married to Debbie for 28 years, died following a brain tumour.
Speaking about the lumps she found on her left breast, she told The Sun: “Stress, I think, caused mine.
