Mel Owen (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) went to great lengths to ensure her son Hunter (Charlie Winter) would not go to prison for the cold-blooded murder of her fiancé Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon) in EastEnders.
In Thursday night’s double bill of the BBC soap opera, Hunter was arrested for killing his step-father Ray.
Hunter’s detainment rattled Mel, as her former flame Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) promised to help them flee Albert Square, but instead handed the pair over to the police.
Desperate to find Jack, Mel turned to his brother Max (Jake Wood) and probed the business owner about his sibling's whereabouts.
But the conversation quickly turned dark when she threatened him with a pair of scissors if her son went down for the crime.
However, eagle-eyed fans of the show noticed the businesswoman was holding them back to front.
Taking to Twitter to mock the scene, one person wrote: “Mel ending a threat with safely pointed scissors.”
Another person declared: “This would be much more threatening if Mel was holding the scissors the other way around.”
