Max Branning EXIT triggered by Hunter Owen arrest #EastEnders

Max Branning (played by Jake Wood) is taking leave from the show, but EastEnders fans needn’t worry as it will only be for a short while.

Hunter (Charlie Winter) was captured by the police during last night’s double bill after he and his mother Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) tried to flee Walford but they were handed over to the police by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

The ex-copper had struck a deal with forces on the BBC soap as he led them to believe Hunter was handing himself over for Ray’s (Sean Mahon) murder.

Although Jack tried to make Mel see sense and, in the long run, it was the best thing to do, she wasn’t about to see things from his perspective anytime soon.

As long-time fans will know, trying to escape the authorities didn’t end well for Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) as he ended up falling to his death from the Queen Vic.
