One77 Mortgages delved into Land Registry sales data to discover the top 20 most popular street names for sales - and it seems the common names are proving the most desirable. Coming in at number one with 5050 transactions - more than 2000 more than the second most popular - was High Street. Station Road was the second most popular with 2,755 transactions, closely followed by London Road with 1,778. Church Road also proved popular with 1,546, along with Main Street (1,469), Church Street (1,368), Park Road (1,297), Church Lane (1,002), Main Road (982) and Victoria Road (974). North Kesteven District Council is where would-be homeowners should be snapping up a property. The average house price in the area is £208,230, and crime per capita came in at 3/100. As a comparison, the worst place to buy a home in England - Cambridge - had a crime rate of 13/100.
