The Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, is known for his witty comments and sometimes outrageous remarks. A royal expert has now given a behind the scenes glimpse of his attitude on royal tours alongside the UK’s longest-serving monarch. It appears that Prince Charles’ father didn’t take too kindly to schedule delays during overseas excursions. Despite the fact the latecomer in question was the US President of the time, Ronald Reagan, Prince Philip took no prisoners. They had been invited to the States by the President and First Lady, and were busy touring California in a limousine. As they arrived in San Francisco, they encountered a road delay. Kitty, in her new book The Royals, told how the father-of-four supposedly “strained with impatience” when he was told of the wait. She wrote of the explosive incident: “The Queen stared straight ahead. Seconds passed. In a completely separate incident it is said he made his feelings about Economy Class flights very clear. He made his comments prior to retiring from all official duties, in 2017. Prince Philip previously announced to the Aircraft Research Association: "If you travel as much as we do, you appreciate the improvements in aircraft design of less noise and more comfort - provided you don't travel in something called economy class, which sounds ghastly.” His words leave no doubt as to just what the Queen’s husband believes appropriate for the family. All rights reserved for this news site express.co.uk and under his responsibility
