When Emmerdale schemer Nicola King (played by Nicola Wheeler) decided to try and fleece resident businessman Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), she had no idea how far-reaching her choice would be.
The mother-of-one was then dealt a crushing blow when the former army soldier revealed he’d clocked on to her illegal behaviour much earlier on than she’d imagined.
Devastated and struggling to get her life on track, Nicola fought against Graham until she realised it was no use.
And when the red-head’s husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles) gave her some serious home truths, it was clear Nicola’s life had fallen apart on the ITV soap.
Seething with her selfish and greedy behaviour, Jimmy unceremoniously chucked his wife out of the cottage, and it was only when children Carl and Angel begged for Nicola to return did the father relent.
What was more upsetting than anything was the fact Nicola had abused her trust with Jimmy’s family company, and as a result Graham managed to swipe the business away from the Kings.
So how can the couple ever go back to where they once were?
While Nicola and Jimmy are on frosty terms at best, the desire to save their marriage overwhelms their petty problems, particularly for the former who deeply regrets betraying her husband.
The latest instalment saw Nicola arrested by the police after she staged a sit-in in the B&B, desperately trying to get Graham to see sense.
