Tonight’s instalment of Dancing On Ice was always going to upset some fans as three celebrity contestants were put on the chopping block.
Many were alarmed to hear presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield reveal there would be a double elimination in tonight’s ITV show.
After some tense performances, it was revealed viewers votes had left Ryan Sidebottom and Brandee Malto, Jane Danson and Sylvain Longchambon, and Melody Thornton and her partner Alexander Demetriou in the skate off.
The trio’s save-me dances all featured different elements, but the judges unanimously voted to keep Melody in the competition, claiming she was the “strongest skater”.
Unfortunately, many viewers didn’t agree with the choice, taking to Twitter to claim the contestant had been the “only” person to do “barely any” solo skating.
In fact, some claimed Ryan did the most solo skating of all three.
Flocking to comment on the show’s major twist, fans shared their thoughts.
One person wrote: “Melody literally did not do any skating in her skate off. She spent 95 per cent of it in the air. #DancingOnIce.”
