It is understood the key split will be in their communications team, according to the Mail on Sunday. In particular, Jason Knauf who is currently head of their joint press office, is rumoured to now only be working with William and Kate. While his deputy, Christian Jones, is likely to work with Meghan and Harry after he was spotted leaving lunch with the Duchess of Sussex.
It has been revealed Mr Knauf is abandoning the Sussex’s after the controversy surrounding the People magazine interview where Meghan’s closest friends talk about her troubled relationship with her father Thomas Markle, according to the paper.
Sources told the Mail on Sunday Mr Knauf was “dismayed” by the interview and is not thought to have known about the article until shortly before its publication.
Comparisons were made between Meghan and Princess Diana after Meghan allowed her closest friends to speak about her family in an interview.
In 1995, Diana hid her incendiary Panorama interview from her closest aides which led to the resignation of her principal adviser.
