Hail and thunder is also expected in Scotland and Northern Ireland and Monday is going to be a lot cloudier across the board.
Meteorologist Carol Kirkwood told BBC Breakfast viewers: “We’ve got quite a bit of cloud across England and Wales in particular this morning, that’s producing some showers and also some spots of rain.
“Here we’ve got some showers as well across Scotland, the north and west, into Northern Ireland and northwest England. Now some of those will be heavy, with hail and possibly some thunder.”
On Tuesday, the UK will be sandwiched between two weather fronts, one moving away towards the east and the other approaching.
