Carol Kirkwood got a Valentine’s Day shock when her BBC Breakfast co-star Naga Munchetty told viewers they could expect to hear her sing on the show. In a video shared on the official BBC Breakfast Twitter account, the meteorologist was quizzed about her apparent performance. When the 56-year-old delivered the weather forecast atop The London Coliseum, Naga, 43, insisted she would belt out a tune for those watching at home. Naga remarked: “Really looking forward to seeing you in 20 minutes. I understand you are going to sing to us?”

Nervously laughing off the invitation, the broadcaster replied: “I don’t actually remember agreeing to this actually, Naga.”

Trying to bait Carol, a cheeky Naga interjected: “I thought you had. We’ll see what happens in 20 mins. Thanks Carol.”

Later in the show, Naga returned to Carol, who was standing at the edge of the theatre’s roof.

“Well Carol has been high up in that tower all morning like Rapunzel,” the presenter began.

“We can see her, just, but can we hear her?”
