But now a new theory has emerged suggesting that very thing could actually happen.
It’s all down to a little prophecy made by Melisandre (Carice van Houten) a while back, who said the “War for Dawn” is about to happen.
Reddit user YanosAldrenn has posted an extensive theory suggesting the end of the world is nigh in Westeros.
The elaborate post suggests the answer to Game of Thrones’ ending lies in “The God’s Eye”, which is the largest lake of the Seven Kingdoms.
Located around Harrenhal, the body of water is home to a single island - the Isle of Faces - and it was where the pact between the Children of the Forest and the First Men was created.
It has its name because of the way the sunlight glimmers in the water and creates a beautiful setting for such an ancient pact.
However, the forum participant believes the lake is actually a super volcano and is set to erupt in the coming episodes - and what’s more, it’s near Winterfell.
