Tracy (played by Kate Ford) was furious to discover her ex-husband Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) had agreed to let the father of Amy’s (Elle Mulvaney) baby, Tyler Jefferies (Will Barnett), work for him at the Bistro.
After revealing to Robert’s partner Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) what her fiancé had done, Tracy wasn’t the only one on Robert’s case as Michelle also agreed they should not have taken on someone who got a underage teenager pregnant on Coronation Street.
However, not content with Robert getting rid of Tyler, the florist approached the gang member in the middle of the street, offering him £5,000 to leave Weatherfield and not to contact Amy about the baby.
Tyler began to wind Tracy up however, leading the protective mother to pin the father-to-be up against the wall and threatened him with a pair of garden secateurs, unaware daughter Amy was watching on from afar on ITV soap.
After being pulled away from the teenager by Robert, Tracy took things one step further by calling the police on Tyler, reporting him for sleeping with her underage daughter and getting her pregnant.
When the police arrived at the McDonalds’ flat, Amy was furious with her mother for interfering when she had implicitly stated she didn’t want Tyler to be reported to the authorities, believing the gang member had done nothing wrong.
Amy was then asked to give a formal statement to the police but when Tracy and Steve (Simon Greyson) began bickering outside the station, Amy ran off, frustrated her parents weren’t listening to her.
Later on, Amy was joined in the street's garden area by Tyler, who broke from his hard exterior to tell the expectant mother no one should tell her want to do with the baby, not even him.
