A pair of Staffy-type pooches were abandoned outside West Mount Vets in Pellon Lane, Halifax, on the evening of February 7 before a third puppy was left at the same place a week later on Valentines’ Day. The trio, who are around four months old, have a severe skin condition called demodectic mange, the RSPCA has said. The red, itchy skin is caused by mites and can lead to infections and hair loss if not treated effectively.

Vets believes the puppies, who were left in a box, have been suffering with the condition since they were born.
RSPCA inspector Sarah Bagley said: "It's unbelievable that someone has dumped these puppies in this way, not once but twice.
"It's taken a long time for the mange to take hold like this, in fact it's thought these puppies have probably had it for most of their lives."
