BBC Weather: TROPICAL Caribbean system spiralling towards UK - 'VERY warm air' ...

BBC Weather has claimed temperatures will nudge towards 18C as the “really warm air” sweeps towards Britain. The weather forecaster, Ben Rich, claimed the “tropical” system is currently sweeping towards the UK from the Caribbean. A shift in the jet stream has seen the warm air barrel across the Atlantic and will crash into Britain within the next 24 hours.

He said: “I will tell you what we are going to feel in the air over the next couple of days and that is something tropical. Some really warm air heading our way.

“Those temperatures could be set to climb even further because the jet stream, the winds far up in the atmosphere have picked up really really warm air, from close to the Caribbean, bringing it in our direction.

“It is essentially tropical air, yes it has cooled off a little bit on its journey, but it still brings the potential for temperatures to climb to 17C possibly 18C in one or two places over the next couple of days. Yes, it is still only February.”

The BBC Weather forecaster added: “Tomorrow then, quite a grey start for many places, and there will be the odd shower about, but much of the weather should tend to ease and the cloud should break up a little bit as well.
