The Palace has announced a former bookies’ public relations executive will join the Royal staff. Donal McCabe, who was employed by betting firm Ladbrokes Coral, has been given the post as communications secretary to the Queen. He starts his new role in March.
Mr McCabe will head the Royals' communications team.
The post was previously held by Sally Osman, who left the job in 2018.
According to New Idea, Buckingham Palace said: “Mr Donal McCabe has been appointed as communications secretary to the Queen.
“Mr McCabe was formerly director of corporate communications at Ladbrokes Coral plc where he oversaw communications for corporate, internal, and government affairs.
