The Umbrella Academy on Netflix follows the story of seven children adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (played by Colm Feore), who form a group of crime-fighting anti-vigilantes. As the Academy, which consists of characters including Luther (Tom Hopper) and Klaus (Robert Sheehan), grew up, they lost contact, until their dad died and they reunited for his funeral. His death remains shrouded in mystery until the end of the series, which has left many fans asking: Who killed the dad in The Umbrella Academy?

Reginald Hargreeves’ death is treated as suspicious from the get-go by son Luther.
The Umbrella Academy is told their dad suffered a heart attack by family butler Pogo (Adam Godley) after a coroner’s report.
Luther doesn’t believe the verdict on his father’s death, telling his adoptive brothers and sisters in episode one, We Only See Each Other at Weddings and Funerals: “He told me I should be careful who I trust.
“He must have known something was going to happen,” Luther added.
The truth surrounding Reginald’s death isn’t revealed until later in the series when Klaus discovers who killed his dad.
