The Heathrow CEO insisted Britons should remain "confident" a no deal Brexit will not affect their travel plans after March 29. Mr Holland-Kaye said the London hub, which is the biggest airport in Europe, has been prepared to handle potential disruptions once the UK leaves the European Union in less than 40 days. Speaking to Bloomberg, Heathrow's boss said: "We have been planning for a no deal Brexit for the last four-five months.

"It’s a prudent thing to do to make sure we are robust in ay kind of situation and passengers can be confident they can still fly, they can still book ahead, even with a no deal Brexit.

"The plans are in place to achieve that and I have to say the UK Government and the EU have done a good job in recent months in listening to the concern of our business to make sure that our trade and passengers keep on flowing even in a no deal Brexit."

UK airlines can currently offer services to anywhere they want to within the European Union because of the bloc’s common rules for aviation, also known as the European Common Aviation Area arrangements (ECAA) and experts had warned a no deal Brexit would threaten travel to and from the UK.

In 2018, Heathrow had over 71 million passengers travel through its 5 terminals. Mr Holland-Kaye said the airport has made "all the sensible decisions" needed to cater to customers.
